Welcome to Winton Health Centre

Winton Health Centre aims to provide a high quality, accessible, user friendly and progressive healthcare service for our patients utilising all available resources within our extensive multi-disciplinary team and from across the wider Primary Care Network.

Our reception desk allows wheelchair-using patients to communicate directly with reception staff and our large car park area has disabled parking spaces and easy flat access into the building. There are also disabled toilet facilities.

Improved access for patients

We are working towards improving access to appointments for our patients, in particular at evenings and weekends. If you would like to be offered one of these appointments, please speak to a member of the team. These appointments may be at a different site e.g.  the Urgent Treatment Centre at Bournemouth Hospital.

Our Shared Purpose

Winton Health Centre aims to provide a high quality, accessible, user friendly and progressive healthcare service for our patients utilising all available resources within our extensive multi-disciplinary team and from across the wider Primary Care Network.

We want to help and engage patients with a supportive approach and, where appropriate, promote self-management of their own health needs.

By working together, we will make best use of the available resources to ensure that our patients receive the healthcare that they need and in a place that is closest to home

Our Culture

We continually strive to improve the adaptability and resilience of our healthcare processes and our healthcare team.

We are improving access to general practice and information sharing, improving communication and decision making and flexible solutions through successful use of technology.

Our evolving multi-disciplinary team approach helps develop a learning organisation culture as the team’s knowledge is greater than that of any individual and we are increasing in our confidence of knowing who to ask and when.

Our Values

  • Be a caring practice

By conveying compassion in word and action whilst assessing and responding to needs.

  • Involve our patients in decisions

Using a whole team approach in supporting our patients to help them make decisions to improve and maintain their health.

  • Work together as a team

By working as one flexible unit that enhances our colleagues’ ability to perform their roles.

  • Work with integrity

By speaking and acting truthfully and being accountable for our actions.

  • Be a sustainable practice

By operating on a financially sound basis with a workforce that has a wide skill mix.

  • Provide Continuity of Care

By providing and sharing information and care planning through the registered GP we ensure early problem recognition, quality of care management and less duplication.

  • Respect our patients and staff

By treating our patients and staff with courtesy, dignity and respect always. We will treat all fairly and be especially supportive to the vulnerable. We expect respect in return.

Our Vision

To create a thriving, community hub that serves a diverse, often transient population with a range of complex medical and social needs, and has the ability to support local general practice.

How do you communicate?

Do you need information in a different format? Do you need communication support?

If so, please tell a member of the Practice staff. Telephone us on 01202 519 311, Post us a letter, email us, or come into Reception.
